Clare Collins AO is Laureate Professor, Nutrition & Dietetics, University of Newcastle, and Director, Nutrition & Metabolic Health Research Program, Hunter Medical Research Institute. She was appointed Officer, Order of Australia in 2023 for distinguished service to health research in nutrition and dietetics, scientific organisations and science communication. She is Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences, Nutrition Society of Australiamand Dietitians Australia.
While research outputs, including >$38 Million in funding, 600 publications, supervision of 50 PhD candidates, rank her performance as top 1% most cited nutrition scientists globally, her extensive science communication efforts exemplify community impact. This includes >3,000 media interviews, 130 articles for The Conversation and millions of engagements with the No Money No Time website and Healthy Eating Quiz.
A trailblazer in her field she was ranked highest female Investigator Grant in 2021 and awarded the prestigious NHMRC, Elizabeth Blackburn Award for Leadership in Clinical Medicine and Science.
