I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian and PhD student at Swinburne University of Technology, supervised by Dr Caroline Tuck. My doctoral research asks whether a novel low histamine diet can reduce pain in irritable bowel syndrome, spanning a systematic review of the existing evidence, laboratory analysis of histamine in Australian foods, and the design of the dietary intervention itself.
Alongside my PhD, I work as a research dietitian at the University of Melbourne on a randomised controlled trial comparing exposure and exclusion approaches to irritable bowel syndrome, and teach sessionally across Swinburne's undergraduate nutrition and Master of Dietetic Practice programs. I came to research from clinical dietetics, having worked across community health, hospital, aged care and group education settings, with a special interest in disordered eating, disorders of gut brain interaction and weight neutral care.
